Transcript | This Book contains a minute of a convention of Colored local Preachers and Laymen held August 23, 1852, which lead up to the organization of the Conference of Colored Local Preachers, and the compiling of the minutes of the Seven Sessions of the above named Conferences from 1857 to 1863, including a sketch of the organization of the Delaware Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and a few statistics of the work of the Delaware Conference from 1864 to 1914, fifty years. A cut representing the John Wesley Church in which the Delaware Conference was organized, and a brief history of that Church. A brief sketch of the life of the author of this sketch, an essay on Preaching by Mrs. Estellina Johnson Spencer, and cut of her. A number of cuts of charter members of the Delaware Conference and others amounting to 14 in all. A prefatory by Rev. Charles A. Tindley, D. D. The title of the book is Pioneer Foot Prints. A souvenir book of the Pioneers who were the Founders of the Delaware Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church and their work prior to the organization of said Conference. Lewis Y. Cox. |
