The Delaware Public Archives is the official repository of Delaware's historical public records from state, county, and local government. Dating from 1653 to the current year, these records consist of minutes, reports, correspondence, probate files, deeds, court records, tax records, photographs, maps, drawings, publications, audio-visual recordings, and a great variety of other material. The images seen here are entire collections that have been digitized; more collections will be scanned and placed on the web as resources permit. Delaware Economic Development Office Photograph Collection
The Delaware Economic Development Office photograph collection consists of photos taken between 1941 and 1973 to document state development activities. Major subjects include local celebrations, Delaware Memorial Bridge construction, business and industry throughout the state, exhibits, portraits, Dickinson Mansion, employment of the handicapped, tourist promotion, parades, political campaigns, recreation, city and town scenes, Fort Delaware, agriculture and Delmarva Chicken Festival, Bissell Sanatorium, beauty contests, historic houses, state parks, governors activities (Boggs, Carvel, Tribbett), Island Field site, public buildings, correctional institutions, Ferris School, Woodshaven-Kruse School, wildlife areas like Bombay Hook, special events like Scottish games and the Delaware State Fair, and transportation.
The Delaware Annual Reports Collection provides an on-line repository into which state agencies can place their annual and biennial reports, as called for in a 2014 update of the Delaware Freedom of Information Act. That update requires all executive branch agencies that are required to submit annual or biennial reports to electronically post copies to a designated state website.
